Modern IT for an Agricultural Machinery Dealership

Reliable Multi-Site Operations for an Equipment Dealership

For a multi-site equipment dealership, reliable technology is essential to keeping sales, inventory, customer management and servicing running smoothly. As the business grew, ageing infrastructure and recurring outages were disrupting staff and affecting customer service. DYN I.T. Solutions was engaged to create a more stable, cloud-based environment. Through a staged transition, we removed dependence on head-office servers and made it easier for staff to access business systems across locations, while keeping the business operating throughout the rollout.
Deliverables

Managed Networks and Business Fibre

We deployed managed firewalls, network infrastructure and enterprise-grade fibre connections across all sites. Site-to-site virtual private networks connected the locations, supporting the dealership’s need for reliable access across its operations.

Cloud-Hosted Business Systems

We migrated on-premises databases and applications to cloud-based services and hosting. This removed dependence on ageing on-site servers and meant other dealerships no longer relied on head office to access those systems.

Device Management and Security

We deployed remote monitoring and management alongside enterprise-grade security across all devices. Microsoft Entra ID and Intune enrolment provided centralised identity and device management.
We also implemented Microsoft security policies and improved the organisation’s Microsoft Secure Score, strengthening the security configuration of its Microsoft environment.

The dealership relied heavily on technology to manage inventory, support sales, maintain customer information and coordinate servicing across its locations.

Its existing IT support arrangement was no longer able to meet the business’s growing needs. Ageing hardware and recurring outages were frustrating staff, contributing to lost sales and creating service issues for customers.

The location of business systems also created a dependency: servers at head office supported operations across the dealership network. Other sites therefore relied on that location to access essential applications and data.
The priority was a stable, reliable environment that supported staff wherever they worked. Just as importantly, the transition needed to keep the business operating rather than introduce a complete shutdown.

Assessing the Whole Environment

We began with a thorough assessment of the existing networks, systems and applications. This established what needed to change and informed a modern network and cloud-based design suited to the dealership’s operational requirements.
The design focused on reliable access across locations and removing dependence on head-office servers, rather than simply replacing ageing hardware in place.

Staging the Transition Around Operations

We implemented the changes in stages, keeping staff informed and prepared as the work progressed.
Scheduling was shaped around the business’s ability to continue operating. Where work briefly affected an individual location, other sites could support operations. This avoided complete business downtime without suggesting that every site remained unaffected throughout the rollout.
The staged approach allowed us to modernise the environment while accommodating the practical demands of an operating dealership.

The dealership now operates with cloud-hosted business applications and databases that no longer depend on on-site servers. This has removed the head-office server dependency that previously linked other locations to a single site.

Staff can move between dealerships and access business systems more easily, supporting the way the business works across its locations.
The rollout was completed without complete business downtime, using careful scheduling and temporary support from other sites when required. Centralised device management, monitoring and security also provide a more consistent foundation for ongoing IT support.
Together, these changes have positioned the dealership to operate across its sites without relying on ageing local servers or a single head-office location.
